But every broken heart can’t be revolution’s song.
The wounded cannot heal until they can be calm.
We must track down every man who sits inside a cell.
We must free 900,000, and make sure each one is well.

Thank-you Shelby. The situation IS heartbreaking…but I didn’t know if I could write anything that would do it justice.
I’m grateful that you think I did.

Claire – your holding the sign saying “You’ll have to shoot me first” reminds me of when I volunteered in Louisiana for a month after Hurricane Katrina. I was with 1,000 evacuees (mostly from the Lower 9th Ward) in Houma when a very educated man came up to me and asked if they were going to be shot by the attendant National Guard. I told him the same thing – they’d have to shoot me first, in order to get to him. http://soulgatherings.wordpress.com/2013/03/03/lenten-reflection-2/

That would make a good post, Theresa. You could really set the scene, so the dialogue at the end would ring home with all its full meaning. What makes the victims of a disaster fearful that their government will shoot them?
Oh, yeah – that crime called “Bring in a disaster while Black”.
Thank-you so much for your support.
